WEBSPHERE ADMINISTRATION
IBM Support Assistant, Part 2
Learn how to Install and Configure ISA in part two of this series.
By Rama Turaga, Owen Cline, and Peter Van Sickel
About this Article:
The IBM Support Assistant (ISA) is a free tool that helps administrators find answers to questions and investigate problems. ISA can accelerate problem resolution by providing quick access to supported information and tools for IBM products. ISA also helps you automatically collect troubleshooting data from WebSphere Application Server (WAS) machines depending on the symptoms you specify. ISA can electronically open PMR and send collected captured data to the IBM WebSphere Support FTP site. The ISA is self-explanatory and easy to use. It is built on the Eclipse framework, written in Java, and uses XML for data representation. This article will take you through the steps required to install and configure ISA to get you up and running.
